As well as famous novels such as Moby Dick, Pride and Prejudice, and David Copperfield, a healthy collection of Shakespeare's plays are also included. Works are presented with the DS held vertically in "book style", and navigated by flicking the stylus across the pages. Additional features include various ambient background sounds and advice on what to read next.

Joint Strike continues the theme of the 194x series through an alternate world account of World War II. The action is viewed from the top down, tracking a fighter plane as it slowly advances up a fixed scrolling route. Other WWII-era-style enemy units fly, roll, and float by to get in the way of the landscape. The "alternate" part means that powerups allow your plane to fire obscene amounts of heavy weaponry and even laser cannons. The "Joint Strike" subtitle hints that in the two player mode, a special co-operative attack is available.

A collection of at least 40 "classic" games on one cart. Card games include various poker variations, blackjack, and bridge. Board games are represented by the likes of backgammon, Othello, and chess. There are also DS-styled action games such as gesture-based darts and bowling. In addition to standard wireless multiplayer, games can be played over the internet via Nintendo Wi-Fi.
