Project Zero II: Crimson Butterfly-
Action AdventureTecmoPS2, Xbox2003

Twin sisters Mio and Mayu are exploring the forest near their childhood home when a crimson butterfly floats by. Mayu follows, causing Mio to give chase. Unknown to them, they pass by a twin deities statue and are dragged into the cursed All God's Village. There, Mio finds the Camera Obscura and begins to unravel the secrets behind the village's situation. Now Mayu is slowly succumbing to a sort of ever, and the spirits of the ex-villagers are restless...

A sort-of prequel to the original, play focuses on Mio as she explores the large village over a number of chapters, each generally focusing on one house or particular part of the story. Hostile ghosts roam the area in higher concentrations than before, and in compensation the camera is more powerful and needs no charge time. As ever, battle is based on successful photography and use of special lenses or functions. Many chapters feature the twins exploring as a pair, adding extra challenge in protecting Mayu.

36 worlds await completion, but only eight of which actually need to be played as you advance along the game's tree. Each world consists of four problems, and each problem consists of a collection of patterned blocks which must be destroyed to progress. When two or more matching blocks meet, they will destroy each other. This is wherein lies the puzzle as the bricks may be dragged to the left or right with your cursor, but will obey the law of gravity. Later puzzles feature moving walls or lifts, and require very complicated procedures to ensure the blocks don't become trapped or end up without any matching partners.
