Freya's initial equipment comes with Dragon Killer, which is all well and good for a dragon knight but ultimately not that helpful. Replace it as soon as possible, but note that supplies are severely limited and more cannot be purchased after the first disc.

• Find in Burmecia.
• Purchase in Treno, Ipsen's Castle.

Mythril is the fighter's choice, and this spear offers a massive improvement over the original Javelin. It may only be two strength points its senior, but it comes with Reis's Wind which is an unbelievably useful restorative skill that should be used and abused often.

• Steal from Zorn.
• Purchase from many shops.

It may be a decorative piece, but it does have a certain air to it and it packs a pretty hefty punch. Learning High Tide as soon as possible is a good idea as that means more Trance, more time spent in the air away from enemy attacks, and more chance for Freya to do what she does best. Lancer also excels at keeping her MP topped up for more Reis's Winds.

• Purchase in Alexandria, Lindblum, Treno.

Now this is more like it. A superb piece of kit crafted from finest chilled water, the Ice Lance is capable of freezing most enemies outright, in which case another hit shatters them completely. Find this in shops around the world as early as disc 3.

• Purchase in Oeilvert.

Luna plus added Darkness plus a meaty attack power makes this a good limited edition spear for throwing down a bit of chaos as well as taking advantage of Freya's physical strength.

• Purchase in Esto Gaza.

Stop is an excellent status to inflict on unsuspecting enemies, which alone makes this lance a good piece of kit. Unfortunately it's a bit forgettable in all other respects.

• Purchase from Daguerreo.

This is one weapon you do not want to forget on disc 3. It has a highly respectable attack power, and carries the Petrification status giving it the chance of inflicting one hit kills with the help of Add ST.

• Steal from Ark.
• Purchase in Daguerreo.

Holy element isn't tremendously useful in most circumstances, but it's a nice attribute to have against some of the more powerful enemies. In addition, this is a strong weapon that gives Freya the chance of learning Reis's Wind if she missed it the first time round.

• Find in Memoria.

Freya's Memoria weapon is, somewhat surprisingly, not her greatest. However, it does have immense power and a set of useful abilities to learn, plus it has a history behind it.

• Dig into the mountain near Oeilvert with Choco.

77 attack power, Dragon Breath, and it's available from disc 3 with the help of a powered-up chocobo. Freya's ultimate weapon certainly has a lot going for it.
