Vivi Ornitier
Sorrow -- How do you prove that you exist...? Maybe we don't exist...
Vivi, the tiny black mage with a heart of gold and no sense of balance, first encounters the group when he is chased onto the stage during the play. As if that weren't enough, he ends up setting fire to Princess Garnet and blowing her cover. Soon after making a hasty departure, poor Vivi discovers a production line on which black mages are being constructed and used for war. Desperate to find out the truth behind the mages, and himself, he follows the party to the ends of the earth in search of an explanation.
Battle commands
Blk Mag
Black mages are designed to destroy, and Vivi has an arsenal of damaging abilities literally at his fingertips. Many of these spells can target more than one opponent, but they are less effective than when being cast at just one.
Focus
By focusing his energies, Vivi can raise his magical strength and make his spells deal more damage. It has a cumulative effect, and he can Focus many times per battle in order to become very powerful indeed. Vivi keeps this strength bonus until the end of battle, even if he dies during its course.
Trance
When under Trance, Blk Mag becomes Dbl Blk. The surge of emotion allows him to cast two black magic spells successively in one turn. They need not be the same spell, nor have the same target, but note that they both cost their usual MP amount.
