Quite how this fits in the lift is beyond me, but it does and manages to hold level with the party. Because it's on the adjacent platform, standard attacks cannot hit it. You will need to rely on Barret's gun-arm, some Limit Breaks, and any magic materia you have at your disposal.
Hundred Gunner has three distinct forms, switching to different attacks depending on how damaged it is. The first two are largely similar, so just attack whenever you can and heal for the rest of the time.
The third form is more dangerous, as it builds up the charge to use the powerful hit-all Wave Artillery. There is plenty of time to prepare yourself, and as this is the only attack it can perform, to recover from.
After the third form falls, Heli Gunner arrives to continue the battle.
