Final Fantasy VIII Monsters

The world of Final Fantasy VIII is nothing if not dangerous, even for experienced warriors. As a highly trained SeeD, you should be aware of the value of intelligence and its ability to decide the victor of a battle before it even begins. Unfortunately, Selphie managed to get on the intelligence team, and they somehow concluded that Lapin Beach would be free of opponents during the Dollet mission. So you really can't trust them.

That is where we come in. Using proper intelligence-gathering techniques, we've managed to compile a list of the enemies you may encounter out in the field, and even some techniques to help defeat them. Hopefully, you will find it useful. If not, at least we're doing our part to help the poor ill-prepared Garden students.

First off, a warning. Our goal is completeness, and our requirements are correctness. We hope to provide all of the information that is possible to give, but we may fall short. We may have missed a certain enemy attack by simply being lucky enough never to have seen it. Item and Draw lists may not be complete simply because we don't know what's available. To cut a long story short, the various lists may not be complete. However, they should be correct. Every piece of data we give has been discovered or witnessed by us in-game. If we say it's possible to do something, that's because we managed to do it. If you think something is incorrect, then please tell us.

Note: Not all of the enemies on this list have stat calculation available.

Victory!

As a consequence of the level system, the battle afterparty is an unpleasant affair with experience depending on a number of factors. Thus, until we've got the formulae worked out, such matters will have to be casually brushed under the carpet. As a general rule, enemies of a higher level than yourself provide more XP. Additional experience is gained by whoever deals the finishing blow. Generally, bosses provide no XP at all.

AP and items are a much simpler affair, with the former being fixed for each opponent, and the latter split into three bands as with Draw. Where more than one item set is listed for a particular level, you will only receive one chosen at random. The distribution is weighted to make the better goods rare. Sadly, it is also possible to win no items at all.
