Rinoa is the leader (also known as the "princess") of the Forest Owls, one of the many resistance factions in Timber. When visiting Balamb Garden to hire SeeD for a dangerous mission, she happens to see Squall across a crowded dancefloor and the rest, as they say, is history.
Though she does have a serious task ahead of her in getting Squall to open up. It is only after spending some time together that her carefree air begins to rub off on him. This is helped in part by her deceptively fierce determination; Rinoa is a girl who knows what she wants, but is only moderately certain about how to get it. With her ideals and Squall's military precision, they make an unstoppable if unusual pair.
On the battlefield, Rinoa's arm-based projectile launcher allows her to attack from a distance, though she is naturally more suited to a magical role. She has a variety of limit breaks for use in times of trouble, many of which involve aid from her dog, Angelo.
