Yuna has trained long and hard to follow in her father's footsteps and become a summoner. It is her task to travel Spira, gaining the power of the Aeons in order to ultimately defeat Sin and bring peace to the world. This is no easy task, and she is fully aware of the dangers involved. Having prepared to risk her life, she is very soft-spoken and apologetic; traits which disguise her strong will and fierce determination.
The Aeons are Yuna's trump card in battle. When summoned, they become fully-controllable party members until either dismissed or killed. Neither the guardians nor Yuna herself remain on the battlefield when an Aeon is summoned, effectively granting them complete protection from attack. Special items gained on her pilgrimage allow Yuna to teach the Aeons new abilities and make them stronger.
Yuna herself isn't well-suited to the rigours of combat, being physically weak and knowing little of the ways of black magic. Instead, her battle power lies in the realm of the white mage, providing recovery and defensive spells when the party is in trouble. Her early Nul magics offer complete protection from elemental attacks, while Cure, Esuna, and Life provide aid to her injured guardians.
