- Tidus, not dead after all, wakes up surrounded by people fleeing for their lives.
- * Bottom of the ramp
- He gasps.
- Tidus: Auron!
- Tidus: What are you doing here?
- Auron: I was waiting for you.
- He walks off.
- Tidus: What are you talking about?
- Overpass
- Panic all around. As Tidus gets his bearings, suddenly everything freezes. He turns to see the spooky kid. Surprised to say the least, he notices everyone else is frozen in mid-stride.
- Spooky kid: It begins.
- (Tidus): Wha?
- Spooky kid: Don't cry.
- The kid vanishes, and panic (and the music) resumes.
- Tidus: What the...?
- (Tidus): Huh?
- He notices Auron.
- Tidus: Hey! Wait!
- He runs over.
- Tidus: Hey, not this way!
- Auron: Look!
- He looks. The Sin-ball floats in the distance.
- Auron: We called it "Sin".
- Tidus: "Sin"?
- A tentacle bursts out of one of the buildings. Dumbfounded, Tidus stares until a host of scales fly from it. They land on the overpass and open up into Sinscale. Tidus tries to fend them off but is frankly rubbish at it. He falls over.
- Auron: Take it.
- He offers a sword, which he takes. Auron picks him up with it, but the weight causes Tidus to fall over again.
- Auron: A gift from Jecht.
- Tidus: My old man?
- He swings ineffectively at the approaching Sinscale, and falls over yet again.
- Auron: I hope you know how to use it.
- Battle: 3xSinscale
- Auron: These ones don't matter. We cut through!
- More are launched.
- Battle: 5xSinscale, Pincer
- Auron: Don't bother going after all of them. Cut the ones that matter, and run!
- They run on, and encounter a tentacle.
- Battle: 5xSinscale, Sinspawn Ammes
- Tidus: Get outta my town!
- Auron: Some can't wait to die!
- Overdrive tutorial.
- More overpass
- Tidus looks up at the Jecht building.
- Tidus: What are you laughing at, old man?
- Tidus: Auron! Let's get out of here!
- Auron: We're expected.
- Tidus: Huh?
- Auron runs on.
- Tidus: Gimme a break, man!
- He follows. A hail of Sinscale descend.
- Battle: 7xSinscale, regenerating.
- * A little way in
- Auron: Hmph. This could be bad.
- Auron: That--knock it down!
- Tidus: What?
- Auron: Trust me. You'll see.
- * Destroy the tanker
- The Jecht building falls, demolishing the overpass.
- They run across the falling building and make a leap to the other half of the overpass. Tidus barely makes it, hanging over the side.
- Tidus: Auron!
- Tidus: Auron!
- Auron (looking up at Sin): You are sure?
- All around, bits of Zanarkand are being sucked up into a vortex centred on the group.
- Auron (helping Tidus up): This is it.
- Auron: This is your story.
- Auron: It all begins here.
- They are sucked into the vortex, and it all goes white.
- Floaty Zanarkand
- Jecht: Hey!
- Jecht: Hey!
- Tidus regains consciousness.
- Tidus: My...old man?
- * Swim up to him
- Jecht becomes a young Tidus.
- Tidus, VO: I thought about a lot of things...
- Tidus, VO: like where I was, what I'd got myself into.
- Tidus, VO: I started to feel light-headed... and then, sleepy.
- It all goes white again.
- Tidus, VO: I think I had a dream.
- Tidus, VO: A dream of being alone.
- We see underwater ruins.
- Tidus, VO: I wanted someone-- anyone, beside me...
- Tidus, VO: so I didn't have to feel alone anymore.
- White yet again.
