Final Fantasy X Script
S.S. Liki - Deck
Tidus, hyperactive as ever, steals a pair of binoculars in an elaborate demonstration of his gymnastic abilities. He quickly tires of looking out to sea, and instead focuses his attention on Lulu's chest before spying an unsuspecting Yuna. As she idly brushes her hair from her face, she notices him and smiles.
* Wakka: Come to think of it, I haven't told you where we're going!
Wakka: First to Kilika Island, then we change boats and head for Luca.
Wakka: 'Fore that, though, Yuna's gotta pray at the temple. I'll be guarding.
Wakka: We'll be praying for the Aurochs' victory, too, so you come along, ya?
Lulu: Great plan.
Wakka: Hey, it is a great plan!
Tidus: Don't look at me!
* Lookout: Huh? You want to use the binoculars?
* Yes.
Lookout: No way. Remember what you did last time?
* No, not really.
Lookout: I see.
S.S. Liki - Bridge
* Captain: We'll arrive in Kilika before nightfall. Go on, take a nap or something.
* Captain: The S.S. Liki is funded by Yevon.
* Navigator: Oh, what a great day! The breeze must feel wonderful.
* Navigator: Wanna man the helm? Yeah, right. Just kidding.
S.S. Liki - Corridor
Tidus is approached by an unusual man with a thick accent.
O'aka: Oooh, them's fascinatin' clothes you're wearing!
O'aka: Yewh! Filthy, filthy! These won't sell or me name's not O'aka!
O'aka: Don't look like you got much money, either.
O'aka: I've no business with ye. Outta my way!
Tidus: Who do you think you are?
O'aka: O'aka XXIII, merchant extraordinaire!
Tidus: O'aka the who?
O'aka: Don't know me? Well, not many do, not yet.
* O'aka: But someday, the name O'aka will be spoken all over Spira!
O'aka: Say, lad, you wouldn't have a bit o' Gil to lend?
* Yes.
Select an amount.
O'aka: Ye really gonna lend me ___ Gil?
O'aka: I guess it pays to ask! Thank ye kindly, lad!
O'aka: Fine seed money for the O'aka merchant empire!
O'aka: Much obliged, lad! I'll be sure to pay ye back!
* No.
O'aka: Eh, it figures.
* O'aka: Have you got some to lend?
* Gatta: Restricted area! Our operation depends on this cargo!
* Gatta: Why don't you go topside?
Gatta: The fresh sea breeze might help restore your memory!
* Luzzu: I'm not at liberty to talk about our plan.
* Luzzu: If people think you're with us, you'll be excommunicated, too!
Luzzu: Some things you're better off not knowing. Take it from me.
S.S. Liki - Cabin
Remedy: Chest
Potion: Case
* Botta: Ugh...I-I've gotten seasick... I think I'm gonna hurl.
* Keepa: He seems real sick, ya?
Keepa: I'm hiding over here, 'cause I'm gonna get sick too if I keep watching him.
* Keepa: If you see one guy throw up, you sorta get sick too, you know?
S.S. Liki - Power Room
Al Bhed Primer vol. III: In the corner
Tidus: Wh-What the heck is that!?
Engineer: Wh-What the heck is what?
Tidus: What is this place?
Engineer: The power room, like it says on the door!
Tidus: Yeah, but why the big birds?
Engineer: What's so strange about chocobo power?
Tidus: Chocobos? Those are chocobos?
Engineer: What? You've never seen a chocobo?
Engineer: What kind of backwater island did you come from, anyway?
Tidus, VO: Miracles and oddities were starting to become daily routine on this trip.
S.S. Liki - Deck
* Lulu: I don't know who you are, or where you came from.
Lulu: If you interfere with Yuna's pilgrimage, we won't take it lightly.
* Crowd
First man: Word is that summoner's got noble blood!
Second man: I heard she's Lord Braska's daughter!
First man: Ya don't say?
Tidus: Lord Braska's...daughter?
* Wakka
Tidus: So, is Yuna's father famous or something?
Wakka: She's the daughter of High Summoner Braska! You saw his statue at the temple.
Wakka: Lord Braska defeated Sin ten years ago.
Wakka: Yuna's the heir to a great legacy!
Tidus: It's tough when your father's famous.
Wakka hmms.
Lulu: Wakka's...a bit lacking in the imagination department.
Tidus: Thanks, Lulu, I'll keep that in mind.
* Wakka: Oh yeah, you talk to Yuna yet? She had some questions for you.
* Angry woman: Hey, can you believe this!?
* What?
Angry woman: I just saw this merchant guy inside the ship, and guess what he said to me?
Angry woman: He walked up to me and said, "You're no good!" Just like that!
Angry woman: Isn't that awful? I've still got style! I'll show him!
Angry woman: Don't you think so, too?
* Yeah.
Angry woman: That's right. I knew I was right. He doesn't know what he's talking about!
* Well...
* No, bye.
Angry woman: You could at least pretend to listen!
* Angry woman: It makes me so mad. I'm not going inside anymore!
* Letty: Should I practise my kick passes too?
* Yeah.
Letty: Okay, I'll pretend I'm kicking with my hands!
* No, you're fine.
* Letty: I'm gonna sharpen my hand skills!
* Jassu: He's really bad at kicking.
Jassu: And I always end up having to practise with him.
Jassu: But what can you do, ya?
* Men
First man: Lord Braska's daughter? She just might have a chance!
Second man: We'll get her to Kilika, we will!
Tidus: She does have a name, you know... Yuna.
First man: Hmm? Lady Yuna?
Second man: Well then, we pray for Lady Yuna's safe passage!
S.S. Liki - Bridge
* Captain: Ocean weather can be fickle, but I doubt we'll see any storms today.
Captain: Of course, there is one thing worse than any storm, and its coming cannot be foretold...
* Captain: The cargo that the Crusaders loaded on board worries me. It better not be anything sacrilegious.
* Navigator: So you're with Lady Yuna? That means you're a guardian.
Navigator: Hmm... I guess I shouldn't judge a book by its cover.
* Navigator: Maybe I'll go have a chat with Lady Yuna, too.
S.S. Liki - Deck
* Yuna
She moves aside to make space for Tidus. He leans on the rail, and there is a long silence.
Yuna: The wind...it's nice.
There is another long pause, before the two collapse in a fit of the giggles.
Yuna: You're a blitzball player, aren't you? From Zanarkand, right?
Tidus: You hear that from Wakka?
Tidus: Wakka doesn't believe me at all.
She steps back.
Yuna: But I believe you!
Yuna: I've heard in Zanarkand,
Yuna: there is a great stadium, all lit up even at night!
Yuna: Great blitzball tournaments are held there, and the stands are always full!
Tidus: How do you know that?
Yuna: A man named Jecht told me. He was my father's guardian.
Tidus feels woozy.
Tidus: My father...his name is Jecht!
Yuna: Amazing!
She prays.
Yuna: You know, our meeting like this must be the blessing of Yevon!
Tidus: Sounds like him, but it can't be him.
Yuna: Why not?
Tidus: My old man, he died. Ten years ago, off the coast of Zanarkand.
Yuna: I'm sorry.
Tidus: He went out to sea for training one day...and never came back.
Tidus: And no one's seen him since then.
Yuna: Why, that's the same day that Jecht came to Spira.
Yuna: It's true! I first met Jecht ten years and three months ago!
Yuna: I remember, that was the day my father left.
Yuna: The date fits, doesn't it?
Tidus: Yeah, but how would he get here?
Yuna: You're here, are you not?
She smiles at him, but their meeting is cut short by a sudden lurching of the waves. The boat is tossed about, throwing Yuna's hand from his grasp. As she steadies herself on a nearby harpoon, Kimahri comes to her rescue. To the side of the ship, a large fin emerges from the water...
First man: Sin!
It accelerates past the ship, sparking two man to reach for the harpoons.
Wakka: What do you think you're doing?
Wakka: Stick a harpoon in him and we'll all get dragged under!
Second man: Sin is going for Kilika! We gotta distract it!
First man: Our families are in Kilika! Forgive us, Lady Summoner!
Yuna nods.
Wakka: Wait!
Wakka: Oh, boy...
They take aim, and fire. One of the spears buries itself in the fin, enraging Sin and causing the boat to lurch dramatically. A volley of Sinscale fly into the air.
Battle: 3xSinscale, Sin
The harpoon gives in, wrenched from the deck. Sin dives, sending a wave that engulfs the ship, before everything falls silent. Tidus is missing, so Wakka leaps overboard to find him.
Underwater
Tidus lies limp, being attacked by random Sinscale. Wakka drives them away with a blitzball volley, before using a phoenix down to revive him.
Battle: 4xSinscale, Sinspawn Echuilles
Kilika
Sin rushes towards Kilika, destroying the small port town without effort.
