| Acquisition | Defeat the monsters in the ex-Monster Arena and make it inhabitable for chocobos. | |
| Sheer perfection. One of the most useful garment grids you will ever see. The Proofs are merely window dressing, though may be useful if the circumstances call for it. SOS Haste is a nice touch, but hardly worth all the spherechanging. Haste is very pleasant. The big thing here is First Strike, allowing the bearer(s) to act immediately at the start of battle. This skill lets you quickly set up defences or change into appropriate dresspheres, or of course, just to Flee before the enemy even gets a hit in. | ||

| Highroad Winds, writ large. Haste is replaced with the slightly more attractive Hastega, and SOS Haste the altogether more enjoyable Auto-Haste. Other than that, the grid is identical to its forebear, making it an ideal replacement and contender for Best Garment Grid Ever. | ||

| Abilities |
Auto-Shell | |
| Acquisition | Rescue Calli during her chocobo quest. | |
| A pleasantly simple grid that serves well during magic-heavy battles, without putting a burden on White Mages. Auto-Shell is the jewel in the eye - almost literally - but be warned that Cure et al are also affected by the status. | ||
| Helios Guard | ||
| Help | Grid containing Protect magic. | |
| Chapter | 1 |
Background: Behemoth

| Location | Moonflow | |

| Equip | SOS Protect Use Protect | |
| Abilities |
Auto-Protect | |
| Acquisition | Complete the "Shave the Hypello?" mission without losing a single piece of luggage. | |
| As Selene Guard, but more useful. Physical attacks are much more abundant than magical, and protection against them is only ever a burden when they are of an element you can absorb. At all other times, Protect is effectively a way of doubling the amount of punishment you can take. From chapter one, no less. | ||
| Shining Mirror | ||
| Help | Grid containing Reflect magic. | |
| Chapter | 2 |
Background: Bomb
|
| Location | Mushroom Rock | |
| Nodes | 4 | |
| Gates | 1 | |
| Equip | Piercing Magic Use Reflect | |
| Abilities |
Auto-Reflect | |
| Acquisition | Defeat Elma in a boss battle along the Mushroom Rock Road. | |
| Reflect is an unusual beast, as its ability to bounce back deadly magic is marred by its similarly obstructive tendencies towards Cure and other positive spells. Piercing Magic goes some way to relieving that problem, by allowing the spellcaster's magic to break straight through the mirror. This may be used to cure yourself, or alternatively to black magicerise reflective enemies. | ||
