When the "sphere rush" kicked off after the defeat of Sin, Rikku founded the Gullwings along with Brother and Buddy. With the airship, the Celsius, under their control, and whiz-kid Shinra working the sphere oscillo-finder, the Gullwings are a force to be reckoned with. After finding a particularly interesting sphere, she had no difficulty in adding High Summoner Yuna to the team, securing their position as one of the most (in)famous sphere hunters in Spira.
It may come as a surprise to learn that little Rikku has grown up in the years since Sin, but that's because she hasn't really. She managed to cure her astraphobia by camping out on the Thunder Plains, but Rikku is still a youngster at heart and still gets her kicks poking around in the affairs (and pockets) of others.
Rikku's hyperactive nature and eternal optimism are free to run riot in the new Al Bhed-friendly Spira. Her hunger for spheres and light-fingered tendencies combine rather well; she knows what she wants, and will stop at nothing to get it. She sees it as her mission to spread Rikku-brand love all over the world. Even if some people like being miserable.
