The daughter of an Al Bhed, defiler of the temples, and excommunicee of Yevon. Two years ago, she put her life on the line to fight for her world, and almost single-handedly brought down a corrupt religion in order to protect those she loved: the people of Spira. With Sin defeated, and her Aeons gone, Grand Summoner Yuna went on to live a life of peace back home in Besaid.
Until that pesky Al Bhed girl ruined it all, that is. Turning up out of the blue with a grainy spherecording of the lost Tidus, Rikku invited her ladyship to join the Gullwings and uncover more of Spira's hidden past. Yuna joined on the spot, jumping at the chance to find her beau and indulge in the exciting joys of sphere hunting.
Outwardly, Yuna is a new woman. Her travels with Rikku must have rubbed off on her, replacing her aura of timid acceptance with an up-front attitude. Gone are the days when would blame herself for matters beyond her control, and nevermore will she stand aside and bow to authority. However, much as Yuna likes to think she has changed, she still hides within herself the spirit of her former summoner ways - she just can't resist helping people and trying to bring a smile to the faces of Spira.
