Bazaar Goods
Loot isn't just a collection of unusually-named chunks of gil. There is an active market in Ivalice and the canny hunter knows that you reap what you sow. Every piece of loot gathered and sold finds its way to the artificers of the land, and may be transformed into exciting new goods.
Or in other words, selling certain quantities of items will unlock new things to buy in the Bazaar.
Each shop has a Bazaar option and they are all linked, so there is no need to sell to the same everything to the same buyer. Records are kept over time too, meaning that you need not worry about selling specific items or quantities all at the same time. Once all of the items in a recipe have been sold (in total) then the corresponding item will appear in the Bazaar. Most Bazaar goods will only ever appear once so are well worth obtaining, but as they do not "age out" there is no harm in waiting a while if gil is in short supply.
