Chocobo Lure
FFVII Materia

With this independent materia equipped, any random encounter that takes place on chocobo tracks on the world map has a chance of including a chocobo. If the battle is carefully fought, the chocobo can be then caught and ridden. The higher a level Chocobo Lure is, the better the chance of encountering a chocobo.

Chocobo Square
FFVII Location

Part of the Gold Saucer. The Chocobo Square holds chocobo races, in which GP can be gambled for items. The races are divided into C Class, B Class, A Class, and S Class, in ascending order of skill. Higher level races have better rewards. Cloud, Tifa, and Cid may even take part in races after taming some chocobos. The famous jockey Joe and his black chocobo Teioh often race in the higher classes, and prove difficult to beat.

Chocobo tracks

Several locations on the world map show large bird tracks. Chocobos can be caught, if the Chocobo Lure materia is equipped, by entering into battle on the tracks. If a chocobo is present during the battle, defeating the other monsters before the chocobo runs off will capture it. Some chocobo tracks locations: near the Chocobo Farm, near Icicle Inn, near Rocket Town, near Mideel.

Several locations on the world map show the tracks of chocobos. Choco may be summoned by standing on these tracks and using a Gysahl Green. Some chocobo tracks locations: beside Chocobo Forest, next to the beach near Cleyra, beside the dying forest containing the Black Mage Village, on the Lost Continent, on the Forgotten Continent near the Qu's Marsh.

Chocobo's Air Garden
FFIX Location

Two very small islands of earth that float on clouds, reachable only by Choco with the sky ability. Here, as in the Chocobo Forest and Chocobo Lagoon, you can play the Chocobo Hot & Cold minigame, digging up treasures with Choco's beak and earning points. On one of the islands, there is a strange monument that Mene warns is dangerous.

Chocobo's Paradise
FFIX Location

Chocobo's Paradise is rumored to exist for special chocobos who have attained their maximum abilities and found all the treasure they can. It is the equivalent of chocobo heaven on earth; all the chocobo inhabitants have to do there is play.

Chocobop
FFVI Skill

One of Setzer's Slots, activated when the reels read [chocobo] [chocobo] [chocobo]. Chocobop brings several chocobos on to run over an enemy.

Chocograph

When a Stone With Patterns is first found in the minigame Chocobo Hot & Cold, Mene explains that its clues seem to lead to buried treasure out on the world map. From that point on, they are called Chocographs. Each Chocograph contains a clue and a picture of the location in which the treasure is found, as well as showing which of Choco's abilities, if any, are needed to find it. Pressing Select while choosing Chocographs in the menu will also show you Mene's helpful hints. Some of the Chocograph locations, instead of containing treasure, will upgrade Choco's abilities. One Chocograph has been split up into six Chocograph pieces, which must be found individually.

Chocograph piece

One Chocograph has been broken into six pieces, found by playing Chocobo Hot & Cold in Chocobo Forest and Chocobo Lagoon. When all are found, they combine to form the 20th Chocograph, Mist ocean, which when found will grant the Sky ability. In addition, under Key Items in the menu, the clues written on each Chocograph piece may be viewed. They lead to Chocobo's Air Garden.

Chrono Trigger
CT Item

An egg of "pure potential," which may rewrite time when - and if - it hatches. The party receives it from Gaspar, the Guru of Time, in order to revive the fallen Crono. With this, and the aid of Belthasar and a clone of Crono, the team manage to save him from being killed by Lavos.

Chronos Cait Sith
FFX Equipment

One of Lulu's dolls, with the Slowstrike ability.

Cid
FFVII Player Character

A foul-mouthed, short-tempered pilot from Rocket Town. He used to work for the Shinra, and nearly managed to live his dream of being the first man in space... However, when his overly-cautious assistant Shera risked her life to ensure the rocket was safe, he was forced to abort the launch. Shinra lost interest in the program, denying him another chance, and thus setting up his lifelong grudge against them. He has never forgiven Shera, and keeps her around to take his constant stream of verbal abuse.

FFX NPC

Continuing the recent tradition of having Cids in leadership positions, FFX's united the Al Bhed and built Home on the Bikanel sands, safe from the prying eyes of Yevonites. His attitude is somewhat gung-ho (matched with a wild west accent) and when problems arise, he chooses the most destructive option. He shares his daughter Rikku's desire to protect summoners from themselves, especially now that his niece Yuna is one. He goes on to pilot the airship.

Cid Highwind
FFVII Player Character

See Cid.

Cindy
FFX Aeon

City of Nobles

Clasko
FFX NPC

One of the Chocobo Knights, and not a very good one at that. A hopeless drifter, he has a natural affinity for chocobos, and eventually quits to become a breeder.

FFX-2 NPC

Still drifting, Clasko follows Lucil and Elma to the Youth League, but still doesn't really know what he wants to do with his life. After Yuna allows him on the airship, he realises his dream and sets up a chocobo ranch in the Calm Lands, on the site of the old monster arena.

Claw
FFX Equipment

One of Rikku's claws, with no auto-ability and only one free slot at most.

Clear Tranquil

Yuffie's second level 1 Limit Break. In an unusually gracious gesture, she restores some HP for the entire party.

Cleave

Cyan's SwdTech number 8. Cleave slices through the enemy party, causing instant death.

Cleyra
FFIX Location

Once part of Burmecia, the people of Cleyra split from that kingdom over a difference of opinions on the necessity of war. The peaceful settlement is housed atop a huge tree surrounded by a neverending sandstorm. No one has entered or exited Cleyra for many years.

Climhazzard

Cloud's second level 2 Limit Break. He performs an upper-cut with his sword, after driving it into an enemy's chest.
