The planet on which the player characters of Final Fantasy IX live. There are four continents: the Mist Continent, the Outer Continent, the Lost Continent, and the Forgotten Continent. It is connected in some way with another planet called Terra.

Vincent's level 1 Limit Break. Vincent transforms into a horned demon and goes into a rage, attacking of his own accord. He will perform physical attacks and Beast Flare, which hits all.

A little-known tunnel leading between the cities of Treno and Alexandria. It is traversable by riding in gondolas hanging from gargants, giant tame insects who walk upside down on paths along the ceiling of the tunnel.

The young princess of Alexandria. Of late, Garnet has been worried about her mother, Queen Brahne, and suspicious of her activities as well. When arranging to sneak into the neighboring kingdom of Lindblum to talk this over with her uncle, Regent Cid Fabool IX, she finds it a good deal easier than she thought, as he has sent the theater group Tantalus to "kidnap" her for that very purpose. Soon after leaving Alexandria, she chooses to be known as Dagger, after one of Zidane's weapons, in an attempt to avoid being conspicuous. Though she won't admit it, Garnet soon finds herself falling for the ever-friendly Zidane. She fights with rods and rackets in battle, but she is more useful for her primary skill, summoning, and her secondary, white magic. In Trance, her Summon command changes to Eidolon, causing any eidolon summoned thus to reappear each turn until the Trance gauge runs out.

After losing his right arm to the Shinra, Barret had this rotating-barreled machine gun grafted into its place.

A wild boy living on the Veldt, Gau will join the party if given some Dried Meat. He is quite taken with shiny things, and the party requires his aid to travel the Serpent Trench. Gossip has it that his father went a bit mad after his wife died in childbirth, and, thinking Gau was a demon, tossed him out on the Veldt to live or die. Due to his formative years at the tender mercies of beasts, Gau can learn to imitate any monster on the Veldt with Leap, and off the Veldt can mimic them with Rage.

Yuffie's first level 3 Limit Break. She attacks, and a large column of energy damages the enemy party.

One of Zell's gloves, with 22 Str and 101 Hit%. It is covered with layers of steel. It can be remodeled with 1x Dragon Skin and 1x Fury Fragment.

One of the Shinra's small airships which failed and crashed into the sea. It now lies buried somewhere on the ocean floor, teeming with powerful monsters mutated by the materia on board.

A hero of the 9th Lindblum War (1389), General Madelene of the Alexandrian army was only 13 years old when she fought the forces of Lindblum with just nine soldiers under her command. Exactly how this came about is unknown. She is remembered by a proud statue near the Alexandrian city gates. She died twelve years later, in 1401.
