A powerful mage and Cid's ex-wife, although they never officially separated; She turned him into an oglop when she found he had been cheating on her. She left with the Hilda Garde airship which he named after her. Kuja later takes her hostage when he steals the airship for himself.

The number of hit points, or HP, a character has determines how much life they have left. When low, the character will enter into critical condition, and will often kneel to show exhaustion. When HP is reduced to 0, the character is "KOed" and may only be brought back to consciousness with measures such as Life spells and Phoenix Down items.

The epitome of mad scientist, Hojo heads the Scientific Research department at Shinra, but has his own agenda as well. Hojo is more than a bit demented, and only cares about how his experiments turn out, no matter who else gets hurt along the way.

The Planet's last defense, even after the WEAPONs, summoned by praying with Aeris' Holy Materia. It is not known whether summoning Holy will wipe out the human race; the Planet may well decide that they are a threat sufficient enough to deserve obliteration.
