Master Materia allows its bearer to use the abilities of all the materia of its type. They may be gained by bringing a mastered copy of each materia of the type to the Huge Materia in Bugenhagen's lab to be traded in, or one of each may be obtained by giving the Earth Harp to the man in Kalm. There are three Master Materia: Master Magic, Master Command, and Master Summon.

This Master Materia allows its bearer to use the summons on every type of summon materia. It can be gained by bringing one mastered copy of each summon materia to the red Huge Materia in Bugenhagen's lab to be traded in, or by giving the Earth Harp to the man in Kalm. Unlike having mastered copies of each summon materia, the summons on Master Summon may be used an infinite number of times in battle.

FFVII Materia
Materia is crystallized Mako, filled with the knowledge of the Ancients. When these small orbs are fitted into slots on equipment, the bearer may use the knowledge for casting spells or other purposes. There are five types of materia, distinguished by color: Magic Materia, green; Support Materia, blue; Command Materia, yellow; Independent Materia, purple; and Summon Materia, red.
