One of Locke's unique skills. Locke can use his "treasure hunter" (ahem) abilities to nick an item from a monster; the same monsters always have the same items. Turning Steal into Capture with the Thief Glove relic allows him to deal an attack as well.
FFVII MateriaThis command materia adds the Steal or Mug command to the battle menu, depending on its level. Steal attempts to grab an item from its target, usually one the monster would not normally drop. Mug adds a physical attack as well.
FFVII SkillThis skill is added to the battle menu when a Steal command materia is equipped. Steal attempts to grab an item from the enemy, usually not one it would normally drop. When the materia is leveled up, the command becomes Mug.

Captain of the Alexandrian Knights of Pluto, Steiner attempts to prevent Tantalus' kidnapping of Garnet, and as a result is carried along when they escape in the airship. His unwavering loyalty to Queen Brahne blocks him from seeing any suspicious activity on her part, and he constantly endeavors to persuade Garnet to return home. His distaste at staying in the party is only leavened by his respect for "Master Vivi" and his duty to protect the princess, no matter how disobedient her actions. In battle, Steiner fights with swords and knight swords, and in Trance, his physical attack strength doubles. He can also use Swd Art to affect or damage the enemy, and Swd Mag when Vivi is in the party.
