Horseshoe Island
Fishman: He tells you that someone on Outset Island has a Knight's Crest.
Treasure: 200 rupees.
Contents: Treasure Chart 8, Treasure Chart 28.
The path to the summit of the island is obstructed by a series of vine walls. In order to remove them, Link will need to play golf. Either throw or use the Deku leaf to blow the seeds towards the flags. Don't worry about hitting them into the rough (seas), as they'll grow back after a few seconds. Treasure Chest 8 is in the cave at the top, and no. 28 can be reached by Dekuing to the spire in the middle of the island.
Outset Island
This island is ravaged by Cyclos, and acts as a warp destination.
Treasure: Triforce Shard 4
Contents: Heart Piece, Triforce Chart 6, Elixir Soup, Hurricane Spin training, Quest items.
Outset Island is home to young Link and the start of the whole adventure. It is here he will gain the items essential to begin his quest, as well as some elementary training as to the basics of the game.
Once Link is able to lift heavy objects, climb to the top of the island and Deku west to a plateau watched over by a large stone head. Lift this to enter the Savage Labyrinth, a 50-level-deep pit crawling with monsters. Triforce Chart 6 is just over half way down, and the final level contains a Heart Piece.
Revive your poor ailing grandmother with a fairy in a bottle and she will reward Link with his favourite Elixir Soup. Drinking this will fully recover both health and magic, and also boost his strength until he next takes a hit. Also, each bottle contains two helpings, and you can return at any time to receive more servings.
Show 10 Knight's Crests to Orca and he will train Link in the powerful Hurricane Spin, a magic-sapping attack that can decimate enemy forces.
Great Fairy: Rupee upgrade.
Once you've found bombs, return to the forest and destroy the large boulder blocking the way to the Fairy Fountain. The Great Fairy will reward you by expanding Link's wallet to carry 1000 or 5000 rupees.
Headstone Island
Contents: Mirror Shield, Heart Piece, Treasure Charts 12, 14, 20.
This is the location of the Earth Temple, blocked by a large boulder that requires the Power Bracelets to lift. Inside are the Mirror Shield and Treasure Charts 12 and 20.
Treasure Chart 14 is in an enemy submarine found near the island. Defeat the monsters therein to earn the chart.
Use a Hyoi Pear to possess a seagull, then fly to the top of the island. The Heart Piece waits on the peak.
Two-Eye Reef
Fishman: A great magical fairy used to live around this island, but she hasn't been seen since the appearance of the Big Octos...
Treasure: Triforce Shard 8.
Contents: Treasure Chart 13.
The inside of the reef is protected by wall-mounted cannons and Bomb Ships. Defeat all of them to cause the chart to appear on one of the "eyes," which can be reached by docking at the wall near the entrance.
Great Fairy: Magic upgrade.
Rescue the Great Fairy from the bowels of the Big Octo and she will double the size of your magic meter. It can be found by looking for a flock of seagulls, and defeated by hitting its eyes with the boomerang.
Angular Isles
Fishman: A special multicoloured firefly lives in the Forest Haven.
Treasure: Heart Piece, found using Treasure Chart 15 from the Forbidden Woods.
Contents: Heart Piece.
Climb to the top of this unusually blocky island to find the other tasty piece of heart.
Boating Course
Fishman: You can perform sharp turns by leaping from the water and steering before you land.
Treasure: Sea Hearts Chart, found using Treasure Chart 32 from Three-Eye Reef. It shows the locations of the charts that point to Pieces of Heart on the sea bed.
Contents: Submarine Chart.
Enter the secret cavern and deal gruesome death to the monsters therein, and your reward will be the Submarine Chart, showing the locations of all of the submarines.
The island itself is a test of your boating skills. For 30 rupees, you can sail the course and collect the rupees from the floating barrels.
Five-Star Isles
Fishman: The Ghost Ship appears here on nights when the crescent moon faces down.
Contents: Heart Piece.
Locate the nearby submarine and rescue the Piece of Heart from its captors therein.
