Kirie
Koto Room
Miku comes to with a rope mark clearly visible around her neck. The young Kirie watches over her as she wakes.
Who... are you?
The ghost points to the koto, and vanishes.
The doors are held by some unknown force. Taking the Koto Sheet Music from the desk and playing it on the instrument, the door to the north slides open to reveal a staircase with a small door at the top.
Attic
A chink of light shines through a crack in the floorboards, coming from the walkway below. Kneeling down, Miku peers through a knothole in the floor and is met by a disembodied Female Head looking back. The camera is strong enough now to defeat her without difficulty.
After collecting the herbal medicine from the corner of the path, turn around and aim up to see the LongHair Woman (3000pts) among the rafters. She is difficult to find, but keep looking.
A second peephole shows the anteroom, in which Kirie can be seen crying.
I don't want to die...
Buddha Room
The attic opens out to the beams above the large Buddha room. Being so far above the ground, Miku refuses to run. Some Type-90 film lies in the corner past the save camera, and while walking above the altar the Truth Binder can be seen below. A stone mirror lies on the beam behind the camera.
Dungeon
As Miku enters this room, a ball rolls out from the central cage. Looking inside, the young Kirie sits tied to the pillars for a moment before disappearing.
This nightmarish room appears to have been Kirie's prison for the majority of her life. A large mirror stands on the one wall, which she would have been facing while she was tied here. Pieces 1, 2, 3, and 6 of her diary are kept around the room. They describe seeing a young man outside, and eventually meeting him and growing to like him. Taking Kirie's Hairpin causes Miku to have a vision of the young woman outside in the cherry atrium with her beau.
He looks exactly like Mafuyu.
Leaving the cell, the Girl in White shows Miku to the western exit. As she approaches, the older Kirie emerges from the mirror and begins to head for her. Kirie cannot be harmed, but can be photographed for reference. Run. She will give chase until the cherry atrium, at which point it is safe to turn back to the stairway and explore the mansion.
Buddha Room
Three Priest's Manuals lie around the altar here, revealing that the Himuro family's duty is to prevent the Calamity by performing the rituals and using the Holy Mirror at the gate to hell. If this is not done, the Malice will pour out from Hell and taint the world.
Anteroom
The missing pieces of Kirie's diary are in here, where she was seen crying previously. She has realised the priests have done something terrible to the man, the man she wished to have been with forever.
Abyss
A Burdened Man can be found from the burial mound, but more interestingly is Kirie's Love (5000pts), visible from the little island between the walkways.
Moon Well
As well as the save camera, there is now sacred water and a spirit stone down here. Placing Kirie's hairpin with the mummified maiden unlocks the nearby door.
Hell Bridge
This is where Mafuyu was seen on the third night. Some herbal medicine lies near the ceremonial stone pillar, and there's Type-37 film at the start of the bridge.
As Miku approaches the thin bridge, she sees a flashback of the Himuro leading poor Kirie to the door at the end. Reaching it, she turns and shouts,
I want to see him one more time!
Miku is then attacked by both Floating Woman and Wandering Man. Neither are particularly strong, but they are fast and Miku is limited to a very narrow path. Once they are cleared, Man at Bottom (4000pts) may be seen from the left-hand side of the bridge. At the end is a note left by Mafuyu.
Dear Miku,
I know it's weird, but I see you sometimes here in the mansion. I run after you, but I always end up losing sight of you... There must be some kind of warp in time here now. We'll probably never be able to find each other... Were you worried about me? Is that why you came?
I hope you get this note. I need you to help me. The force behind the curse of Himuro Mansion is a woman named Kirie. She was sacrificed in a ritual, and her sad spirit was exposed to the Malice that spilled out of hell when the Calamity happened.
Now she's a miserable creature that taines everything she comes into contact with. Apparently, I remind her of the man she was in love with. I somehow just knew that when she touched me... I plan on going to see her now. If I don't, this mansion will keep right on claiming victims...
Kirie laments her ill-fated life but, at the same time, she also regrets not having been able to fulfill her duty as the Shrine Maiden. I saw the image of Kirie as a child. She was looking for somebody to help her--to help her other, tortured self.
Kirie is like a person divided in two... Miku, I want you to help Kirie if you can. You have to seal off the Hell Gate with the Holy Mirror...
Rope Altar
This pentagonal room is the one in which the sacrifice was performed. The scattered images Miku has played witness to come together now as she sees the ritual in its entirety.
Kirie lies spreadeagled on the altar, loose ropes tying her to limbs to five winches. She writhes as best she can, calling out to those around her for help. Her cries fall on the deaf ears of the priests and family master as they turn the wheels to tighten the ropes. She is lifted slightly into the air as they become taut, creaking under the pressure as the priests continue. Suddenly, everything falls silent.
No... No!
Flesh gives in to rope, and the family master holds aloft the one which used to tie Kirie's neck.
Miku is attacked now by a weakened Shrine Maiden crawling slowly along the floor. She poses no real threat. Above the altar is Six Vengeance (4000pts).
Baptism Path
Herbal medicine and a spirit stone lie to either side of the door to this unusual twisted pathway. About half way along, another Shrine Maiden attacks at high speed from behind. Sacred water lies at the end of the hallway, along with another of Mafuyu's notes about their grandmother, Mikoto Munakata/Hinasaki.
Hell Gate
Miku is again witness to a completed scene in which the Hell Gate bursts open, breaking the ceremonial ropes and killing everyone in the mansion. The mirror shatters in response.
As she finds the mirror's resting place, Mafuyu appears behind the pillar. So too do Kirie's arms, encircling him in a loving embrace. He looks dazed and immobile, as if his mind is clouded by her presence.
Miku...
Kirie's tormented demons break from her back, also reaching out towards him. She takes firm hold and drags him into her very body.
We will always be together!
Kirie is the strongest demon one could ever wish to encounter. Her weak points are her lack of speed and relatively rare teleportation, so it's not difficult to keep her in your sights. However, she can cause an earthquake which will shake the lens and completely throw you off. If this happens, don't bother to correct and just turn and put more distance between yourself and her. She is only affected by fully-charged amber shots, so wait patiently and hope the ground stays still. Once photographed, she will fade out. Stay focused, as she will reappear in the same location. It should take only four Type-90 shots to finish the battle. Kirie's biggest advantage is her power; a single touch will completely drain Miku's health.
She is too strong for the camera to contain, and it will shatter instead. Miku recovers from the shock to see the remains of the defunct device lying nearby. However, on turning, she sees that Kirie is still alive. Her saviour comes in the form of young Kirie, pointing out a reflective object in the camera's remains.
It's the final piece of the mirror!
She runs to the fragment, being careful to avoid the still-deadly Kirie behind her. Taking it, the pieces reform into the Holy Mirror. On placing it in the recess, it shines a light onto Kirie, destroying the demons and freeing both her and Mafuyu. They are safe, but Kirie knows that it is her duty to seal the Hell Gate and prevent the Calamity. She binds her wrists and suspends herself before the door, as the young Kirie fades into nothingness. The Malice continues to bang on the door against her back, but Kirie holds firm. She urges Miku and Mafuyu to leave, to save themselves, as the surroundings begin to crumble under the power.
Mafuyu chooses to stay by her side, allowing her to both have love and fulfill her duty for all eternity.
Miku wakes outside the mansion, surrounded by the freed souls which ascend to the heavens.
Ever since that day, I stopped seeing things that other people don't see.
