Walkthroughist's Note 1
Spirit encounters are split into three types, colour-coded for easy recognition.
Spirit Alert
A standard blue Spirit Alert represents a ghost who will appear briefly on entering a certain area. You only have a short amount of time to line up the shot, and you will not be able to trigger it again if you miss. Some of these spirits will pull you out of viewfinder mode when they appear, making it all the more difficult to capture them.
Bound Spirit Alert
Bound Spirit Alerts, in green, do not fade over time and won't even appear until the photograph develops. When one is nearby, the filament will glow bright blue. Using the viewfinder, look for a point at which the capture circle also glows, and then take the shot.
Hostile Spirit Alert
These are the ones to fear. Hostile spirits are the only real threat in the village, so it is important to be wary of them. Many encounters are predetermined and the spirit(s) must be vanquished in order to continue. Some areas may spawn random encounters if you spend too long admiring the scenery; These may be evaded, and will rarely follow through doors.
